The Ruffwear Grip Trex Boots provide safety and protection across all terrain. Use the boots when backpacking, camping, hiking, or jogging. Fashioned from 100% polyester for the upper layer, the boots are fashioned from synthetic pigskin and feature no-sew TPU to create a breathable boot. Grip Trex are suitable for hot weather adventures and can provide a protective covering from hot pavement and other terrains that could damage your dog's paws. The mesh material allows for appropriate airflow to assist in heat transfer. The back of the Ruffwear Grip Trex Dog Boots features a non-marking Vibram outsole to provide paw protection and added traction, especially while running.

The unique hook and loop cinch closure of the boot help maintain a snug and comfortable fit, even when wet. The gusset style opening makes the boots easy to put and take off, while still ensuring a secure fit. For adventures in low light, the boots have a reflective trim to improve visibility. Like all Ruffwear Dog Boots, Grip Trex are available in sets of two to accommodate the size differences that some dogs have between the front and back paws. Please see specifications for additional information.

How to Measure Your Dog

  1. Neck: Measure the circumference of the base, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  2. Lower Neck: Measure the circumference of the area above the shoulder blades towards the top of the chest, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  3. Chest Girth: Measure the circumference of the widest part of the chest behind the front legs.
  4. Length: Measure the length of your dog's back from the top of their shoulders to the base of their tail.
  5. Height: Measure the distance from the floor to the top of your dog's shoulder blades. Your dog needs to be standing on all four legs.
  6. Paw Width: Measure the widest part of the paw. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  7. Paw Length: Measure the distance between the "heel" and the longest toe nail. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  8. Muzzle Length: Measure the nose length from the tip to the crook where you want the muzzle to sit comfortably below the eyes.
  9. Muzzle Width: Measure the muzzle's circumference at the widest part, leaving space for two fingers to ensure a comfortable fit.
  10. Weight: Step on a scale while holding the dog, then subtract your weight from the total. A dog scale is conveniently located at all our locations.

Choose the size which fits your dog's entire paw, including toe nails. A snug fit is best. Boots that are too large may slip off. It's common for some breeds to require different-sized boots for their front and back paws. Measure each paw to get the most secure fit.
