The Ruffwear Brush Guard Harness Add-On is an add-on attachment suitable for select Ruffwear backpacks and harnesses to offer support and protection during backpacking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding and other outdoor activities that involve tough or cold terrain. This chest guard uses a three-layer design made from 420D nylon ripstop and EVA foam that prevents snow and ice build-up on the chest area during the winter and during the warmer months, it provides protection from sticks or sticky plants that get often get caught and matted in the fur. This guard also helps distribute weight and tension if your adventure buddy is wearing a backpack and it protects their chest and belly from abrasion. The brush guard provides additional support if you ever need to lift or assist your adventure buddy over challenging terrain. 

Easy to attach and remove, the Brush Guard uses a velcro hook and loop system to secure itself onto the Web Master Harness, Approach Pack, or Palisades Pack. Available in a variety of sizes and in the colour Basalt Gray. Please see the specifications tab for more information.

How to Measure Your Dog

 

 

  1. Neck: Measure the circumference of the base, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  2. Lower Neck: Measure the circumference of the area above the shoulder blades towards the top of the chest, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  3. Chest Girth: Measure the circumference of the widest part of the chest behind the front legs.
  4. Length: Measure the length of your dog's back from the top of their shoulders to the base of their tail.
  5. Height: Measure the distance from the floor to the top of your dog's shoulder blades. Your dog needs to be standing on all four legs.
  6. Paw Width: Measure the widest part of the paw. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  7. Paw Length: Measure the distance between the "heel" and the longest toe nail. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  8. Muzzle Length: Measure the nose length from the tip to the crook where you want the muzzle to sit comfortably below the eyes.
  9. Muzzle Width: Measure the muzzle's circumference at the widest part, leaving space for two fingers to ensure a comfortable fit.
  10. Weight: Step on a scale while holding the dog, then subtract your weight from the total. A dog scale is conveniently located at all our locations.
