The Kurgo Impact Dog Harness is a crash-tested design that will help keep your dog safe and secure in the back seat in case of an accident. The sturdy harness is made of a single piece of high tensile (4,000 lbs) tubular webbing that has been reinforced with bar tacking. The lightweight, comfortable harness easily attaches directly to the existing vehicle seatbelt system and has been crash-tested for dogs weighing up to 60 kg (130 lbs). The chest pad is padded and broad with four separate points of adjustment to ensure the fit is both comfortable and secure.

Nesting buckles are made of steel. Machine washable materials. No additional attachments or straps required. Available in a variety of sizes. See Sizing Chart under Specifications tab for details.

How to Measure Your Dog

 

 

  1. Neck: Measure the circumference of the base, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  2. Lower Neck: Measure the circumference of the area above the shoulder blades towards the top of the chest, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  3. Chest Girth: Measure the circumference of the widest part of the chest behind the front legs.
  4. Length: Measure the length of your dog's back from the top of their shoulders to the base of their tail.
  5. Height: Measure the distance from the floor to the top of your dog's shoulder blades. Your dog needs to be standing on all four legs.
  6. Paw Width: Measure the widest part of the paw. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  7. Paw Length: Measure the distance between the "heel" and the longest toe nail. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  8. Muzzle Length: Measure the nose length from the tip to the crook where you want the muzzle to sit comfortably below the eyes.
  9. Muzzle Width: Measure the muzzle's circumference at the widest part, leaving space for two fingers to ensure a comfortable fit.
  10. Weight: Step on a scale while holding the dog, then subtract your weight from the total. A dog scale is conveniently located at all our locations.

Instructions for Use

Fit the harness to your dog:

  • Release the buckles and loosen the straps as needed.

  • Pull the harness over your dog's head. Ensure the back pad falls on his back and the chest pad (with Kurgo logo) on the front.

  • Gently pull your dog's legs through the loops.

  • Fasten the buckles.

  • Adjust straps one by one to fit the dog snugly yet comfortably.

Attach dog in the vehicle:

  • Load the dog into the vehicle and have them sit in the backseat.

  • Pull the vehicle seatbelt down and pass through both of the restraint straps on the dog's back.

  • Connect the seatbelt to the seatbelt connector as with normal use.
