Dog Food FAQs

How much food to feed my dog?

All dog foods offer recommendations and feeding guidelines on the package. This is a great place to start, but it might not be right for every dog. Make small adjustments as needed to find the best portion sizes for your dog's needs..

When to switch a puppy to dog food?

Around one year old is the standard to switch a puppy to adult dog food, but dog breed and size should be factored in. Large and giant breeds can keep growing until 2-2.5 years old in some cases, and switching them to adult food too early can hinder their development. If you are not sure, talk to your vet or breeder before making the switch.

Can I combine different types of dog food?

Yes, many dog owners choose to combine different types of food, such as kibble, wet, or freeze-dried options. This can help add variety and offer your dog the benefits of each type of food.

How do I change dog food?

Changing dog food too quickly can lead to some tummy troubles. The best method is to mix the food, 25% new to 75% old, gradually increasing the new-to-old ratio over the course of 7-10 days.

What type of dog food should I choose?

The best type of dog food depends on your dog’s needs and your feeding preferences. Dry kibble is convenient and cost-effective, while wet, raw, and freeze-dried options can offer higher moisture and variety. You can also feed a combination to balance nutrition, taste, and convenience.
