Help your dog stay cool during hiking or everyday activities during the warm summer with Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Cooling Dog Vest. This cooling vest uses an evaporative cooling method by designing a vest that uses a three-layered design. Just pour water on the area, and the middle polyester non-woven felt layer will absorb the water while the polyester dry-weave mesh lining cools your dog. Then the outer polyester air mesh layer releases the evaporated water out to help your dog regulate its temperature while providing shade and protection from the sun (UPC rated up to 50+). Located on the back behind the neck of the vest is a slit that allows you to attach a lead to a harness, and located on the side of the jacket are ITW Nexus Waveloc side buckles that make it easy to remove the vest after a long day outside. Reflective trim outlines the back of the vest, and behind the neck is a spot to attach Ruffwear's The Beacon for visibility protection during the night.

Swamp Cooler comes in various sizes and two colours. Please see the specifications tab for measurements.

How to Measure Your Dog

  1. Neck: Measure the circumference of the base, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  2. Lower Neck: Measure the circumference of the area above the shoulder blades towards the top of the chest, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  3. Chest Girth: Measure the circumference of the widest part of the chest behind the front legs.
  4. Length: Measure the length of your dog's back from the top of their shoulders to the base of their tail.
  5. Height: Measure the distance from the floor to the top of your dog's shoulder blades. Your dog needs to be standing on all four legs.
  6. Paw Width: Measure the widest part of the paw. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  7. Paw Length: Measure the distance between the "heel" and the longest toe nail. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  8. Muzzle Length: Measure the nose length from the tip to the crook where you want the muzzle to sit comfortably below the eyes.
  9. Muzzle Width: Measure the muzzle's circumference at the widest part, leaving space for two fingers to ensure a comfortable fit.
  10. Weight: Step on a scale while holding the dog, then subtract your weight from the total. A dog scale is conveniently located at all our locations.
