For adult dogs over 100 pounds, add approximately 1/3 cup for every 10 additional pounds. For pregnant or nursing adult dogs, we recommend free-choice feeding.
These charts are meant to be used as a guide, so you may have to adjust the amount to help your adult dog reach and maintain an optimal weight. Daily rations can vary depending on the breed, age, and activity level of your dog. Make sure that fresh, clean water is always made available for your dog.
To help your pet adjust without digestive upset, we recommend transitioning gradually over 7 to 10 days:
- Days 1–2: Start with 25% new food mixed with 75% of their current food
- Days 3–4: Go to a 50/50 mix of new and old
- Days 5–6: Shift to 75% new food and just 25% of the old
- Day 7+: Full switch to 100% new food
Some pets might do well with a slightly faster transition, while others (especially those with sensitive stomachs or food allergies) might need a bit more time—listen to your pet and adjust as needed.
