The cross-load compression system and flopper stopper assist with load stabilization to help reduce pack movement and bouncing, even on rougher terrains and rigorous hikes. The saddlebag is fully removable to lighten your dog's load and leave you with a durable dog harness. The harness chassis is laminated and features moulded bonded mesh with perforated foam for breathability and comfort.

This dog backpack can keep up with even the best adventure dogs. The harness portion of this pack has aluminum hardware with non-slip girth straps and Hypalon fasteners for added durability. The non-slip girth straps help to evenly distribute the pack’s weight and prevent chafing or rubbing. A padded handle lets you assist your dog across difficult terrain, even for dogs over 80 lbs. Attach a leash to the durable 061-T6 aluminum V-ring or the webbed loop on the backpack. You can also add the Ruffwear Ruffwear Beacon or Audible Beacon for greater visibility and safety. The Palisades Pack has two one-litre collapsible hydration bladders to help keep your dog hydrated on the go. The Ruffwear Palisades Pack is available in numerous sizes. Please see specifications for additional information.

How to Measure Your Dog

  1. Neck: Measure the circumference of the base, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  2. Lower Neck: Measure the circumference of the area above the shoulder blades towards the top of the chest, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably.
  3. Chest Girth: Measure the circumference of the widest part of the chest behind the front legs.
  4. Length: Measure the length of your dog's back from the top of their shoulders to the base of their tail.
  5. Height: Measure the distance from the floor to the top of your dog's shoulder blades. Your dog needs to be standing on all four legs.
  6. Paw Width: Measure the widest part of the paw. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  7. Paw Length: Measure the distance between the "heel" and the longest toe nail. You'll get a better measurement if your pup is standing.
  8. Muzzle Length: Measure the nose length from the tip to the crook where you want the muzzle to sit comfortably below the eyes.
  9. Muzzle Width: Measure the muzzle's circumference at the widest part, leaving space for two fingers to ensure a comfortable fit.
  10. Weight: Step on a scale while holding the dog, then subtract your weight from the total. A dog scale is conveniently located at all our locations.
